My Wife, Ana Zain

My Wife, Ana Zain, is from the same family background as I am. She is from Santren, Kaliabu, Salaman, Magelang. The little difference between her village and mine is that her village is located on the slope of Sumbing Mountain, which has cold temperature and fresh atmosphere. If in my village people cultivate rice, in her village people cultivate fruits and vegetables. The educational attainment and people income more or less are the same.

Ana is a graduate of the Department of Islamic History, Faculty of Arabic Letters, State Institute for Islamic Studies, IAIN Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta. She attended her convocation in order to officially receive her Dra. (read: doktoranda) --a Dutch-originated degree equivalent to B.A. in North America educational system-- Diploma in 1997.

She along with Dave then came to Montreal on August 31, 2000 to accompany me while I was pursuing my M.A. in Sociology. She now speaks English though not so fluent as the English natives do. But I always encourage her to do so since I believe no body can achieve a state of fluency in language proficiency unless he or she practices it every time.

Ana's obsession is that she would like to run a real business by opening a small but complete store where you can find any stuffs you need ranging from daily needs, stationer, computer software and hardware, car/motorbike spare part, food/meal, sport articles, books to office staffs. Hopefully her obsession comes true in a near future.
